Description
The Fan Martini glass stands 8 inches tall and can hold 10 ounces. The unique shape of the martini glass makes it one of the best known cocktail glasses, it alludes to sophistication and fine taste. It is said that the wide open brim of the glass produces surface tension that brings out the bouquet of the gin, the cone shape keeps the ingredients from separating, and creates a nicer display of the olive garnish than a standard cocktail glass.
The artist uses wispy, bold strokes of color against a hand-frosted glass. Fan is an elegant design for all seasons!
Amy's Story
I’ve often been told I should have named this design “feather”. When I created this design, I was thinking of the fans made of feathers - colorful and playful. Not the electric fans we see all over in the summer time moving the hot humid air or the throngs of people surrounding a superstar, it was much simpler than all that. The fans of days gone by, when ladies wore gowns to dinner and everyday activities were of a grander scale. The elegance in daily use.
By the way, this is my mother’s favorite design. Whenever she needs a gift for a special occasion, she calls me to paint “something in Fan” for her.
